For years, the Real Maine Mom Summer Bucket List has helped families discover new adventures, support local businesses, and create meaningful memories together.
This year, we’re adding a fun challenge.
Complete activities from the Summer Bucket List, visit participating Bucket List Stops, earn points along the way, and see if your family can reach 26 points by August 15.
Families who reach 26 points can submit their challenge for a chance to win prizes from participating businesses.
How It Works
The Summer Bucket List Challenge includes more than 40 action items, ranging in point value from 1 point to 5 points. Complete any combination of items that bring you to a total of 26 points to complete the challenge.
Choose the adventures that fit your family’s interests, schedule, location and budget. Whether you’re exploring the Maine outdoors, visiting a local attraction, or checking out a Featured Stop, many different types of summer experiences exist on this list and help you earn points.
Point Values
- General Bucket List Activities = 1 Point
- Bucket List Stops = 2 Points
- Featured Stops = 5 Points
Reach 26 points by August 15 and you’ll be eligible to enter our prize drawing.

Do I need to sign up?
No. Just download the list and start exploring.
Do I need to complete every activity?
Not at all. Pick the activities and stops that work best for your family.
How many points do I need?
Families must earn 26 points by August 15.
Can I complete multiple activities in one day?
Absolutely.
Can I use photos to help track my progress?
Yes. Many families find it helpful to snap photos throughout the summer.
Should we save the photos that we take related to the challenge?
Yes, we’d love if you did, especially for the items asking for a photo. We will ask you if you would like to upload those photos on the final submission form. Keep in mind, you can snap a photo without your child being visible, or at least not their face… we prefer that actually. Uploading photos will ultimately be optional and will not impact you ability to submit the final form for a chance to win the ultimate prize package.
What is included in the ultimate prize package?
We have begun collecting items from our bucket list partnering businesses and will begin sharing this information out via social media, most likely in July. Make sure you are following along with @realmainemomguide if you’d like to stay in the loop.
