Frequently Asked Questions
Is this an adult only event?
Yes. The Kids’ Pick Awards is an adult only evening. This is both to create space for business owners and community members to connect and celebrate, and due to venue capacity limitations. We kindly ask that guests arrange childcare for the evening.
Who should attend?
This event primarily serves members of the Greater Portland area kid friendly business community, including owners, founders, team members, collaborators, and often adult family members who support their work.
The Kids’ Pick Awards celebrates the businesses that serve families year round, especially in the Greater Portland area.
What is included in my ticket?
Your ticket includes entry to the event, access to the full awards presentation, networking time with fellow business owners and community members, light bites, and drinks available for purchase.
Additional event details will be shared closer to the event date.
Is my ticket refundable?
Ticket refunds may be considered depending on the timing of your request. Because this is a community driven event with expenses committed in advance, we appreciate as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend. We will not be able to provide refunds within the week of the event, but we do appreciate a heads up.
Tickets may be transferred to another guest if needed. If you cannot make it, please let us know so that we may extend the opportunity to others to attend.
Should I attend if I am not sure whether I will receive an award?
Yes. This event is designed to celebrate the entire community, not only those receiving awards that evening.
Being present in the room matters. The visibility, connection, and shared celebration are a meaningful part of the experience regardless of the outcome of any category.
Can I wait to purchase tickets until I find out if I am a finalist?
We encourage you to purchase tickets early. The event has sold out in previous years and space is limited.
Tickets are not reserved for finalists, and attendance is not tied to award outcomes. If you know you want to be in the room, securing your ticket early is the best way to ensure your spot.
Will finalists be notified ahead of time?
Finalists are not notified in advance of award results as long as they have a publicly available email address.
Awards are announced live during the event to keep the focus on shared celebration and community.
New in 2026
Award categories that are not represented by a confirmed finalist with a ticket will not be announced for award distribution that evening.Businesses are strongly encouraged to secure tickets if they would like to be eligible to receive and celebrate an award in the room.
